Are they by chance the same people that constantly reminded PS3 owners about the differences for well over5 years? The only difference is the media thought it was a relevent discussion then and worthy of lowering review scores for PS3 games.

Probably. And the PS4 guys doing it now are probably the same people who were crying and complaining about it for well over 5 Years.
Its a vicious circle. Both sides are as bad as eachother. In reality they should all rise above it and enjoy the games rather than mocking someone elses potential purchase in a really pathetic way.
