It is all my fault. I should have bought shitty third party ports.

So true. Nobody buys 3rd party crap because Nintendo's own games are the best on any Nintendo plattform. http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/3ds?sort=desc&view=condensed

The article's author is spot on and your statement lends credibility to his argument in a big way.  He specifically stated that Nintend fanboys don't buy third party titles and that model is simply unsustainable when there is a diminishing amount of licensing revenue coming in which offsets the cost of the dedicated harware you love so much. His point is eventually the 1st party snobbery he has identified amongst the rabid fan base is slowly killing Nintendo like a cancer.

Okay maybe a bit harsh but sometime to save the patient a little hard truth is in order.

It is why Nintendo's consoles have gone from usually one of if not the most powerful (in terms of hardware specs) console of their respective generations to the least. Nintendo is cutting losses by making concessions on hardware specs.

It's not all bad news though. Eventually Nintendo will stop making home consoles and then turn their focus to just games and then you can buy a console that has fans who ARE willing to buy and play third party titles (as well as the ocassional Nintendo ip) which will subsidize your need exclusively play Nintendo games. Which will make Nintendo happy (and more profitable might I add) as well as the console developers (in this case Sony and MS) who will gladly take the licensing fees of those "shitty" 3rd party ports of Mario, Zelda and Metroid.

The article was total and utter truth.

By my count a MAJORITY of the games 75 or greater on the WiiU are third party titles. 3 of the top 5 are third party.
