The company, but the fans who defend them to the death are significantly more annoying

Of course fanboys are annoying but that is not the root of the problem.

What in your opinion is the root of the problem of third party games selling notably worse on Nintendo consoles then? And mind you, as is shown in the article this happened on the GC as well, so the "inferior port" argument, doesn't explain it.

Nintendo of course, not it's fanbase. Nintendo fans bought third party games in the Wii, Just Dance is an example, I'm sure there are others.

The GC was not a desireable product at all. It was Nintendo's fault that people weren't drawn to it.

I agree. The cube was a great machine, but it was the ugliest design ever. A purple box, with a handle..... What are they thinking sometimes?! Who the hell could take a purple handled box seriously? I loves it regardless, but had to scratch my head at the design.... And even tho I like the wiiu, the controller is basically a huge controller with a completely unnecessary screen on it. There isn't one game that screams: you need this controller. If there's one positive thing about the wiiu, it's that it is going to make Nintendo unpredictable, an unpredictable, desperate Nintendo is a good Nintendo, I think..... I hope.....
