a "mental addiction" as you describe it in no way could feel at all similar.
I would say its the wrong word. More just liking it. Alot. Like how we all like video games(well I would assume so on this site...)
Thinking you need something is alot easier to deal with than FEELING that you need something. Using the same word for both would be inappropriate.
