Sony's consumers are the stores.

Did you miss the whole Ioi thread about this?

They aren't going to change the meaning of sold in the middle of a financial document, and not tell anyone they did it.

Think about it.

ioi's thread was on the difference between the terms sold and shipped when it comes to the big three hardware sales.  They will say sold which to us is shipped.  Nowhere have I ever heard of a company saying "sold to consumers" and that being taken as shipped.  Why does SCEI have to estimate how many sales they sold to retailers if they do that directly?

A) I thought that happened that thread?  They asked the microsoft guy... and he said "yes to our consumers" or somethign like that.

B) Looking at it.  Guess I am wrong.  To be completely honest though, i put the blame on Sony's financial guys.  It doesn't make any sense to change definitions mid document, without actually mentioning that.

Since sales up until that point all = shipped hardware and shipped software + DLC.

It's either that or they just assumed they'd sold almost everything except what was in transit and rounded up.
