Alcohol is a much worse problem for society. Millions of people smoke marijuana in the US and yet you don't really hear about them causing car accidents or abusing their spouse/kids when they're high.
I personally hate marijuana (don't like the way it makes me feel) but the draconian laws against it are just silly.
