They BOTH hate Microsoft (like everybody in fact except united state)
Sony has reached the 1 050 000 in PAL territory (not bad considering the really short period of time),
but sony is losing America
BUT Sony is quite protected from Xbox360 in japan
==> with this type of exclusivity like FFXIII, which is still popular in the world (even if it is losing hype with time), Sony could still stole to Microsoft the "not cheap and not new" next-gen market.
But this is right that if PS3 sell don't evolve then transfer of the PS3 exclusivity to Xbox360 will be considered
