Hickory, NC produced a couple I can think of.
#1 - NBA joke, great college basketball player at NC State, went to Hickory High. This picture pretty much summed up his career in the NBA.
#2 - pretty good college basketball coach at Texas graduated from Hickory High as well. He tried to fight Dean Smith during a game in the tournament one time and I never liked him after that.
