NAT-3 is when you are using a router but it is restricted... there is issues with ports blocked for example.

NAT-1 and NAT-2 are fine... works everything fine.

Router + uPnP = NAT-2 (it is the best config unless your router is really bad at routing traffic... any moderm router works fine even the cheapest).

Nat 1 or open nat is the best for playing games online. They run the best. At least thats my experience.
