When I say "console quality," I'm actually referring to a game that is either a 1st person or 3rd person game on a handheld. It's less of a "quality" thing, and more of a "game type" thing. I use "console quality" because when I see games in those perspectives, I just instinctually imagine them on home consoles first.

Then call it "console-like" and leave quality out of it. That would completely clarify your thoughts.

There's no need to say "console-like" if everyone already understands what is meant by "console quality."

Good point. However, I'm not convinced that everyone has the same idea about the meaning of "console quality". Just by looking at this thread, I can see a few differing interpretations. One based on different game structures, another based on percieved gameplay quality, yet another based on production values...

Almost everyone seems to agree that the term "console quality" itself is a bit odd in relation to its intended meaning. "Console-like", I propose, is at the least better wording for what everyone is generally trying to get at.
