That kinda depends on what you mean by audience. As I've pointed out third-parties have made a habit of not putting as much effort into the versions of their games they're putting on Nintendo which does reduce the audience for third-party games on Nintendo consoles, but I see that as an extention of the 'intimidation' loop that Nintendo, gamers, and third-parties have all trapped ourselves inside of.
