What if Kinect was introduced with Xbox One instead of 5 years into the 360's life cycle?

Maybe so, but that didn't stop the original Kinect from selling 20+ million. It would still attract people because of the 'cool' factor. I doubt the effects of the gimmick would wear off after 2 months. 

It would be a lot slower though. The original Kinect also had the add-on option and cheap 4gb arcade bundle option. With a new supply constrained $500 console the hype would have died down long before 20 million sales. It was also the perfect time to jump in to motion controls right after the Wii reached it's peak.

But yes it would have been a selling point for the XBox One instead of having negative connotations of motion controls in general.
