It's because back then the games were better

That said, for the average new game today, I wouldn't really accept something that has such a low resolution or framerate. Even if the technical side isn't where my priorities in gaming lie, I at least expect some progress gen-on-gen. Luckily I am able to put things into perspective, so to me older games definitely don't lose their quality
