PS3 and Vita had The revenue/profit posted in yen... so a weak yen means that it generates a lot of yens... now the PS4 revenue is posted in dollars so a weak dollar means low revenue/profit.

Everything lies in the conversion... example:

PS3 cost to manufacture = 100 yen but Sony sell it outside per 150 dollar, when you convert to yen again and the yen is weak you have 160 yen but when the yen is strong then you have 140 yen.

PS4 cost to manufacture = 100 dollar but Sony sell it outside per 150 dolar, you will never profit or lose more because the the conversion.

PS3/Vita profits more because the weak yen... PS4 not... I can be wrong too.
