On the topic of Toukiden... i have been playing the demo a bit more. I got to chapter 2 (its a pretty long demo). The game is definitly growing on me. I didnt like how world number 2 seems to look too much like world 1 for my taste, but the combat does have an interesting learning curve. I found out that if i chain some skills i can actually make a pretty long combo. Cutting parts off the bosses is pretty satisfying aswell and theres some strategy on the choice of megatama (aka skills). Now that by itself becomes repetitive, so i was pleased to see that with every new mission there always seems to be something new. Be it one or two new monsters types or some new pieces of the map to visit. It keeps things somewhat fresh.

With that said, one thing i didnt like was the item management. Why the hell can i only have 30 different types of items? This makes it quite a chore to manage the inventory cause we are forced to delete items we have no idea if we will need later on. They have a rarety level, but its still annoying if you delete something you will end up needing and having to farm later.

Thats the only complaint really. I like the characters so far and the story while a bit minimal does have some interest.

I will definitly ponder about it when it comes out, and i will keep making progress on the demo.

Actually i was in the same boat as you. After beating the first boss I noticed the 30 item thing, it was really annoying because it doesn't make sense to reach item limit in one chapter so I googled it and it turns out the item limit is only in the demo as far as I know (according to gaf impressions thread and gamefaqs) so thats a relief. You start with 400 item cap in the full game and You can complete requests (mainly delivering items) that will expand the space you have(900 items max limit)

I was unsure about this game because i don't like Monster hunter and the long sword was boring, but using the dual knives and chain and Sickle changed my mind. The spear is also interesting so I recommend people try all the weapons before they decide. I'm definitely going to  buy this game

Thats good to know.

I actually found a good way to use the sword. The circle button move speeds up your moves, and if you make a combo with it, when you press the circle again it does a flurry of slashes. I like doing power up with the megatama, circle for faster attacks, do square, square, triangle, square, triangle, square, square combo and circle again to do the flurry. Its a charged up 8 hit combo. Pretty cool.

I would like to use more weapons though. I liked the gauntlets, but it will depend on how the game develops and how feasable it is.
