Heh, it's a running joke I have that started with Quake. Red, brown, and gray is the color palette of far too many games, and it just looks so bland and boring despite how technically awesome it may be.
The best looking games that I've played from the last generation are the Metroid Prime games and the Rogue Leader games. Rebel Strike looks absolutely sick. I've played the God of War games, and while the style is excellent, they really are only technically impressive when compared to the other offerings on the PS2, and don't stand up to the `cube's best.
I didn't own an Xbox and neither did any of my friends, so I can't compare those games. I will say that that trailer for Rallisport Challenge looked amazing, and I have no doubt that there were some great feats on that system given its relative strength and the amount of resources put into the platform.
