You would think X1 would be higher though since there is still 600k of them sitting on shelves as of Dec 31st..

Actually no since it is $100 more expensive and still has a lingering negative public perception. Id say it is doing far better then initial expectations.

For me, the negative public perception is a myth, you don't sell 3.9M consoles at launch with bad public perception, that card is played out nowadays. I'll give on the 100 price disadvantage but for me the negative pr is very limited these days to internet forums and resolution gate wars. Spencer is doing way better then anyone else did in the past year to repair the negative PR. They did the right thing and shut Harrison up pretty good, got rid of Mattrick, Nelson is okay but is to phony looking. Penello will never catch a break and should just sit on the side lines and let others talk instead. If they can shut Greenburg up they'll be back in at 100% imo.

Well I did say lingering, but it seems to be most present in Europe at the moment. And going on a 80 million install base, which was dominant in NA, to have NA being the biggest sales location for MS just makes sense. Considering the core gamers are currently the sole supporters of the consoles, it is their word of mouth and what they own that dictate what their friends buy. Even if they don't comment online, they may very well still have those opinions. I certainly wouldn't call it a "myth" now. Still too soon.

LOL at trying to say x1 is struggling in europe because of negative perception....ps3 outsold 360 depite being more expensive and late quickly in europe, now ps4 is cheaper, and launched the same time, Xbox is simply not big outside the US, has zero to do with some "Perception".

He will be on damage control mode for a long time but I understand. PS4 is dominating because of 2 major things : better deal for the consumer and because in Europe and rest of the world people prefer PlayStation than Xbox like... a lot. And to know UK is back to PlayStation's hand and X1's struggling in US...

But the bad publicity about X1, NSA sure don't help it...

That's a sure thing.
