I love platformers and bought Blinx 2 dirt cheap years ago and played a good portion of it before I stopped because I wasn't having as much fun as I thought I would and something in the game was reeeeeally hard and I got stuck (can't remember what it was) so I moved on to other 360 games. I feel you in sense, but there is ZERO market for platformers or mascot games like that. After seeing the way most of the community responded to the criminally underrated Nuts and Bolts, I just gave up on one of my favorite genres ever making a comeback outside of Nintendo consoles ... |
Nope, I know you're exactly right. Looking at the sales of recent Ratchet & Sly games on PS3, the market really is cornered on Nintendo consoles with legacy IP's and nothing else...
... but I think there can be success if budgets are just managed correctly and the games are released at the right price (i.e. Sly 4 and Ratchet Nexus were both ~ £30 on release I think).
Probably just wishful thinking on my part. I love mascot platformers. Especially with anthropomorphic animals (except Sonic, which has just never clicked for me).
