Sony had to do massive price cuts on a console that was apparently being sold at loss even at $600. Courtesy of teh Cell and Bluray.

I don't think MS anticipated keeping the X1 $500 for more than a year. If they do, they'll get trounced.

Yeah they will be fine and even if this was a PS3 style situation, they could easily just drop kinect and undercut PS4, if they were desperate.
