Can't be arsed to check and make sure, but I'm pretty sure that Prince of Persia wasn't originally a Ubisoft IP, but was purchased after the original developers kicked the bucket. So that's something.

Yes Prince of Persia, starting with the Sands of Time is awesome!
I think that's when Ubi acquired it.

What about the Xeno series? I here that the newest installment on Wii was a masterpiece.

Xeno changed hands twice, and none of them came close to the original Xenogears.

EDIT: Actually, maybe it was only once?

Except that neither Nintendo or Bandai Namco own Xenogears, or have ever owned Xenogears. Square-Enix owns Xenogears, Bandi Namco owns Xenosaga, and Nintendo owns Xenoblade. This is essentially the same situation as Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. They are two seperate IPs, but Dark Souls has the perception of being a successor to Demon's Souls, even though it's in name only.

I disagree. A spiritual successor/predecessor to a game is still a successor/predecessor in my opinion, even if the original IP can't be used.

I am the Playstation Avenger.
