Cheaper, better games, better versions of cross-platform titles, better downloadable content and downloadable games, better back-compat unless you buy the $500 PS3.
The only reasons to buy a PS3 are if you REALLY want Blu-Ray or if you're a hard-core MGS or Final Fantasy fan.
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
