What you are doing is paying to play many more games than you'd normally be able to afford, not because you think "Man, that's a great deal, I'll save myself loads of moolah." (You do talk like that right?) But because the service offers what you need and what you enjoy, that is to play games and lots of them. Buying those games one buy one just to find out they are rubbish would cost you a lot, the PS+ service allows you to get all that for a lot less and maybe potentially experience games you wouldn't have normally.

"Trialing" games used to be common place and you never used to pay for it, they were commonly known as Demo's and Shareware and other derivatives.
You paid nothing for that privilage, I found some golden gems back-in-the-day like Sacrifice via demo's.
Props to him if he finds value in the Paywall, I personally don't.
