I believe this is not very clear for some; PS4 multiplatforms games will always be better on PS4 because of better hardware. easy as that. But again, less % of power reserved for Kinect is ''better'' for XOne games, just forget the "VS PS4", it is finished this Gen. It's over, performance speaking. |
The gaming media is trying to get more stories from these that indeed exist. PS360 was a situation to report, it was similar powered consoles with one of them underdelivering because of the architecture. In PS4/One case, there is nothing to write home. It's a visible difference, there is no secret sauce, API diff, cloud power or anything to get over it. Multiplats will always be better on PS4. People even say that some multiplats could do better on One, but that's much unlikely. If you optmize a game for One, it is optimized for PS4, its the same architecture. If I simply don't do nothing to improve the PS4 version, I can just give it a better framerate or put extra antialiasing. Its like discussing PS2 vs. GameCube graphics. PS2 is weaker and that is a fact, games will look worse.
It's not like it will impact One. It will receive the same games with minor to decent graphical differences. It's not like Wii U that will have problems with ports simply because it has much less raw power and uses an older shader model. Power diffs are only a problem when they require you to rewrite massive parts of your engine (or simply use a new one like the Wii), and that's not the case in One and PS4 because they are the most similar competitor consoles ever made.
