But the real problem of the X1 is not really the GPU but the splitted Video/Main ram memory architecture. The main memory is too slow and it will always lead to big bottlenecks with open (or semi-open) 3D world games which really use extensively the main memory to continually process stuff while you play.

That's why the games where X1 shine is with closed sports games or racers games. And X1 has really trouble to do more open games like FPS (COD/BF4) and open world games (DR3/AC4).

But it's good nonetheless, they could patch Ryse with a boost of 8% and instead of averaging 27fps during action they could average 30fps (still dipping sub-30fps but less often).


There is no split memory. The ERAM is a cache like any other.
