Wow.  Are you sure?  That second image is sharper than the PC!  :o

Sharpness doesn't necessarily mean anything. You've got to look at the fine deatil (e.g. the hair effects). And a more matte, soft finish is often more pleasing to the eye. I know over all I prefer the bottom image.
