K'nex was awesome, you could build much bigger and sturdier than Lego. (I'll agree the K'nex in the OP looks shit though, seems K'nex has moved onto kids with no imagination)
Mindstorms looks cool though, I'd not even heard of it but it seems to be an extension of Lego Technic but with electricity.
