In days of yore, the Gods came down from Olympus and engraved upon the Souls of Mankind a single Rule: "thou shalt release no videogames of note in January, because dude, nobody buys videogames in January - everybody's all spent out after Christmas". Sorry, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.
In later, more enlightened times, however, the miracle of digital distribution has begun to dislodge this ancient dogma. You can play a whole bunch of HTML-5 games on Xbox One right now using the console's Internet Explorer app, for instance. OK, so it's not quite Titanfall - but dagnabbit, it might keep the wolf from your door.
Xboxie (Xbox IE, see) has helpfully rounded up a hair short of 40 games for inspection. I heartily recommend Strandead (catapult squirrel at ocean, watch it die) and Gravity Maze (pictured; rotate the entire world to move fluffy monochrome animals to the exit). Most or all of the games don't strictly speaking offer controller support, but can still be enjoyed without a keyboard and mouse. Bear in mind that the site appears to be sponsored by the creators of Total Domination, which is one of the titles listed.
