Same reason why Legend of Zeld: Ocarina of Time's score is overrated and not accurate as the highest scoring game of all time.

Perhaps, except that when OoT came out in 1998, the internet was still in it's infant phases as far most people actually using it (or even having access to it) was concerned, and there were FAR less video game media outlets then than there are now. So unless a lot of OoT reviews are retro-reviews done more recently, then I'd question that theory a bit. Mind you, I don't even think OoT is the best Zelda, let alone the best game of all time. But I'm just saying.
