But why compare TLOU to MGS4? Compare it to UC2. That is a game that came out a mere year after MGS4 and even lacks that vocal minority and its made by ND as well. UC2 is just as relevant if not even more currently. It's in tons of GOTG votings and generally praised to hell even today. If you think TLOU which does everything better than UC2, will recieve a similar vocal minority to that of MGS4: Then you're just very wrong. MGS4 also retconned a ton and generally had a fuckton of past to connnect to. TLOU and UC2 are practically standalone and it does not take a genious to realize that the praise for these games are not exactly easy to replica. It's not just one aspect either. If you truly look at where the praise is coming from, you'd be delusional to think it will be "forgotten" (which MGS4 even isn't but yeah, it has indeed a vocal minority to looks back on it going "what was I thinking"). |
