I did the research, the problem is that i couldnt find the original tweet. Besides, sounds like that tweet came before the 3ds price cut and then someone just quoted several months later.

I believe one of the articles stated it was his response to a tweet about the 3DS selling more first week vs PSV. However there are no links now so it makes it hard to determine when exactly it was posted but due to it being a topic on a fair amount of sites, if it was inaccurate at that time I'm sure someone would have called it out. He also could have deleted the tweet. I found quite a few gaps in his tweeting history.
