Alright, I actually got myself to open up the link and watch it, and yeah... He sounded REALLY lacking in confidence and skiddish in his answer. He said it very quietly and quickly, in a kind of somber tone.
This definitely isn't right, it sounds like he was just scared to disappoint the audience all over again, and reluctantly went with a white lie.
