I gotta be careful or I'll miss some info. Sakurai is making a habit of posting additional information on Miiverse:

Some other changes include:
-Air time and accumulated damage will determine your period of invincibility while hanging on an edge.
-Grab controls will no longer be affected by whether you have above or below 100% damage.

 

What I think this means is that strategies like constantly jumping and grabbing the edge will be nerfed by making the character invincible a very short amount of time if the air time is short.
