It is the same situation Epic Mickey 2 was in.

Nobody wanted it, SCEA paid for it and published it.

Small thing, but Epic Mickey 2 was SCEE, not SCEA.

... was the bill footed by the european division and SCEA only distributed the game for america ?

...confusing !

Yep, pretty much.  You can usually tell by the studio doing the porting.  Epic Mickey 2 was Blitz Game Studios from the UK; Borderlands 2 is Iron Galaxy Studios from the USA.

Also, I think it's a bit unfair to say that nobody wanted Borderlands 2.  There was a big reddit + twitter campaign for the game to be ported back when Randy Pitchford made the comments that he wanted the game to be on Vita.  Certainly the impression Sony would get from that is that there are people out there who want it.

I also think Type-0 is a bit of a unique situation.  Had it been Vita-native I think we'd have seen it by now.  Porting to Vita and translating it is a bit more of an undertaking.  It's something SCEJ would have to handle as well, I would imagine, and although they have a 3rd party relations team they seem to be more interested in developing their own projects than porting someone else's.

That is a nice bit of information at the beginning, thanks, I´ll keep that in mind for the next late Vita port ;)

Ok, yes, fair enough, but it just feels like 2K/Sony killed the sales of B2 by making it a Plus freebie before it even launched.....it just feel a bit redundand at this point.

...yeah, is is...not as easy as I said before, but (if you are interested): this article  http://www.usgamer.net/articles/tgs-agito-type-0-fan-support-and-the-intimacy-of-portables

Sheds some light on the Type-0 situation.

Edit: I´ll stop the derail right after this post and....be just happy that Tecmp Koei and Nis America are as fantastic as they are !
