Epic is big enough to push their own games. Technically after Gears 1 they could have went multiplay. This is exactly what you said. if TitanFall sells like hotcakes why on earth would EA keep it exclusive?
Along with making a ton of money off of MSFT gears went on to being one of the highest selling exclusives for the generation. According to you this should make them go multiplat which never happened. EPIC could have easily published it themselves or taken it to another publisher.
As i said, the only difference in this is TF has a publisher already which i bolded and underlined for you which makes your comment say nothing that i already didnt say. My point is, sales doesnt determine exclusives for every franchise. we could even use sony franchises as an example if we wanted to. How about Insomniac which stood loyally by Sony's side up until Sunset Overdrive and FUSE. Another develoer that could have easily went multiplat years ago but didnt. Again, if a game sales well it doesnt determine exclusives for the future.
On the other side of things, if a game sells poorly, then they will go multiplat almost all the time. There is actually advantages of going exclusive and devs know this.
Again i DO NOT think TF2 will be exclusive(if anything exclusive content, early DLC, or timed exclusive something or another), just pointing out that your comment isnt neccessarily true.
EDIT: To make myself a little more understandable, i dont disagree with the part about EA. I disagree about the part with selling more copies determines an exclusive as that hasnt always proven to be the case. Money matters the most and as long as MSFT gives them enough it doesnt matter how much it sells as long as it offsets what they would have gotten going multiplat.
