The current sales of the series don't justify the expense. Aonuma's direction and ideas haven't changed in years and years. The fault must lie with some element of his decisions.
I don't understand why he continues to be given free reign.
The art style is merely an example of this. If he wants it cartoon, it's cartoon. Wii U Zelda sell badly? Doesn't matter, he's still in charge.
