Wouldnt that apply to every new thing they try though?
In any case with regards to streaming i think they would have had faith given the success of Twitch on PC's.
There was also a massive uproar when SE decided that streaming wasnt allowed for FF14...which obviously effected the game. SE changed their stance pretty quickly.
If theres one thing we know about these big companies is that once they find out that something has a direct impact on sales and popularity they will react.
