If you think what you are saying has any validity, no one is allowed to have their own opinion. Its what the majority buys that is automatically the best thing ever, but how does one go about making a decision as to what to buy? There has to be a first person buying right? That is why we come up with reviews. Because something that is good for me, might not be good for you. Therefore, if something that is good for a million people isnt good for me, doesnt make my opinion any less relevant. You just dont have enough data for perception of quality with sales numbers alone. |
I know that were all entitled to our own opinions but quality should be defined by sales and not one's or a groups opinion to eliminate the bias.
I never said that you weren't allowed opinions on a games quality but it should be percieved as personal quality and not general quality. How people know that one product is better than the other product is by spreading the word. A large brand does NOT grow overnight, it needs time. It's true that there has to a person testing out the product at first but in the long term if one person sees more quality in a specific product compared to it's competing product it is likely that the person as well as others will start reccommending one brand over another.
Sales numbers alone will tell us what the general population prefer over one another therefore it's safe to say that we have enough info to define quality. I don't see people calling GTA V or Halo trash, now do we ? Like I said, people don't buy the games that they don't like. Your right about how your opinion of a game compared to the millions does not make YOUR opinion any less relevant, however the mass markets purchasing decisions ARE more relevant than your opinion. Quality is recognized by MANY and NOT just by the FEW.
