PS: weekly VGChartz numbers. |
Whatever the NPD for January will tell us doesn't change the fact that PS4 is in high demand 2 months after its release.
You can't have an opinion on numbers. It has sold 4.2 Millions in 2013 while been sold out almost everywhere in most stores around the world.
This kind of demand is unprecedented, whatever how you spin the numbers, since the Wii. You may say X1 sold 5% more in December (in USA) or in the first week of january but THAT is really just anecdotal facts.
The big picture is stricking: look at the lifetime PS4 sales compared to X1, compare sales of the main multiplats on PS4/X1, all the million sellers on PS4, tells us PS4 is a phenomenon similar to Wii. But people on Wii didn't buy all those multiplats -> third parties devs didn't benefit from Wii as they benefit now from PS4.
