people don't care about games performing and looking better?

Did it stop the PS2 and WII from dominating despite the fact that they had weak hardware ? 

ps2 was a beast of a console, when it came out, xbox and GC were more powerful because they came out a year and a half later, and even then MGS2/GT5 look amazing better then any of the launch games of both GC and xbox. as for the wii, when it's all said and done it's gonna beat both ps3/36o by 10 million, not a real domination by any means, and look at wiiu successor, i'm pretty sure gamers are not buying it cause of the bad taste the wii left in there mouth by being such an inferior console.

It may only end up winning by 10 million but it also moved more 1st party software then the other 2 combined even without Wii Sports which was the bundle game, which I am sure Sony and Microsoft would kill for, considering that's where all the money is made.   The Wii U just needs games, and not niche hardcore titles like Pikmin and W101 that only appeal to gamers..  1.3 million consoles have been sold ever since SM3DW came out.  If Nintendo would have had Donkey Kong and Mario Kart out for the holidays it would have outsold easily outsold the Xbox One at 1.5 million and would have given the PS4 a very strong run for its money at 2 million.    Nintendo made the choice to make a weaker console graphically, which can work just fine, but without games to back it up both the casuals and hardcores will ignore it.   Their problem now is having to wash off the stink of being the failure console even once those games come out,  it took Sony atleast 3 years to wash that stink off of the PS3.

xbox1 and ps4 ahaven't even come close to releasing a killer app, yet they are selling much better then wiiu, so don't give the line they just need games, when wiiu launched with 2d mario, the sequel to the game that sold 21 million units, and it's funny you mention super mario 3d world as the reason the wiiu selling 1.3 million units, thats's not the reason, the reason is something called the holidays, its when every console sales explode, even dreamcast sold 1.2 miilion during the holidays.
