I have been thinking about how strong this PS4 launch has been, and the only conclusion I have been able to come to is that Microsoft seriously damaged their own brand last year, more then any of us even thought.

- 85 percent of the games are exactly the same.

-  Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Killer Instinct vs. Killzone,Knack,Resogun.....Xbox One clearly has the better exclusive lineup.

- Hardware specs are essentially the same.

- Cost to play online is the same.

- Almost all of the online features are the same.

- Microsoft has marketed the Xbox One(McDonalds,Doritos,Moutain Dew,More Signs,More Commercials) much more heavily then Sony has the PS4.

All that leaves is either A. The $100 price difference is that big of a deal, or B.  That opening press conference last year where Microsoft essentially rolled out a high end cable box (TV,TV,TV), turned millions of gamers to the Playstation brand.   Nintendo has taken alot of s**t lately, but its less about image and more about just a severe lack of games and marketing.  The Wii U sold 995k units WW in December just off of SM3DW and a little more advertising.   Microsoft's problem moving forward is going to be much bigger though.  They launched with a boatload of marketing and better games, and their consoles are gathering dust while even into the middle of January PS4's are selling out the day they are put out for sale.   The only good news for Microsoft is that Sony has shown absolutly nothing that can counter Titanfall and Halo.  Infamous will be lucky to sell 1.5 million lifetime based on Infamous 2 sales, and with the huge drop in racing game sales, I really doubt Driveclub will even crack a  million.
