Unless I over looked it...I'm surprised i haven't seen any topics about this yet I heard about this yesterday on a podcast and frantically called around to confirm if it was true or not and its legit. I just got back from CC regarding the HD-DVD deal. They give u full purchase-price credit towards a Blu-Ray player or some discounted credit amount on a CC card if opt not to get a BR (depending on the manager, they will tell you that either it has to be within 30 days, 90 days, or it doesn't matter, but i took the article in with me just incase). I took the Blu-Ray option and asked if getting a PS3 would count (they said yes). I was supposed to pay the difference between my Toshiba Player ($199-purchased on Black Friday) and the 40GB PS3 ($399), but as luck would have it, I had a "hook up" at the store and ended up doing a straight exchange. So in essence: I GOT A 40GB PS3 FOR THE PRICE OF MY TOSHIBA AD3 HD-DVD PLAYER!!!! I saw at least 2 other HD-DVD players sitting behind the counter that had been returned.
I now officially own all 3 systems. Got the 360 on launch day, got Wii on launch day, picked up PS3 today.
