==> well, it is hard to say since we dont know the story of MGS4
but remember lot of people never played to MG on NES (the first 2 episode).
also remember Kojima has said there will be cinematic in game of the ancient episode to allow everybody to understand (for example some cinematic of MGS1/2/3 will pop in the screen and u will be able to see them or pass them if u alreayd know them)
