Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a take over the country style game set in Japan.  

Setlers sounds like my kind of game, I think I can track a Romance title on PSN, for the PS2 digital collection. I will check this out!

Just don't get Romance of the Three Kingdoms 7, 8, or 10.  They add a feature in the game where you control only your lord and you have to exit each area and go to each area seperately .  Then order your units in the castle.  It has the features of the older ones, but the way they do it makes it really slow paced.  The reason they added that feature is so that you could be with a country where AI controlled everything else and you could be any of the regular warlords, not one of the rulers.  The other ones where you just tell everyone to do what you want them to do for the month is a lot quicker.  Pacing is better on the other games.

Oh, and RotTK9 has your armies that move real time around, not turn based.  The others are turn based.  I think RotTK12 even though I haven't played it is also real time.

Also in your quote, I said  RotTK is Japan.  I guess I was thinking Nobunaga's Ambition at first.  RotTK is China, Nobunaga's Ambition is Japan.  Just correcting myself before people start quoting it saying I'm wrong.
