Highly unlikely. Besides Wii U, Nintendo have made profits on obscure hardware. If anything, Sony should start developing games for Nintendo handhelds because they might actually have some respectable sales for once.

Why not come to an agreeement whereby they work on consoles and handhelds together? Since one seems to be very good at doing one and weak in the other?

It's time to put aside tired old ideas that Sony is the enemy all the time, Nintendo should be looking at new paradigms.

That doesn't mean third party per se, but is there room for a partnership here where both companies have input and indepedence? I think there could be a window of oppurtunity here.

Sony is not the enemy any more IMO, the rise of smartphones and tablet gaming is the main enemy, the collapse of the Japanese gaming market is the enemy ... these are things where Sony and Nintendo's interests allign.

As someone who purchases both of their consoles, I would love to see that happen, as long as there was a 50/50 creative control. We'll never see it though and again as stated, Nintendo can sell an obscure amount of consoles in a generation becasue their software eventually sells well, whereas Sony makes larger investments in hardware with lower first party sales for the most part (especially on handheld).

I believe the smartphone/tablet gaming crash is coming in the next few years, so while they may be the enemy now, their grip will loosen soon enough.
