I don't know, people keep talking about iwata's failures in plural but if you look back the GC and GBA didn't generate losses, the DS and Wii certainly dind't generate losses and the 3DS is doing as good as it posibilly can, which means the only ''failure'' under iwata's direction is the Wii U which the last time i noticed was selling at a loss, that plus the *yen situation have made it rough for nintendo, the thing is that people act like if it was the end of the world, it's not, that's why Iwata is not leaving.
*and for most japanese companies too
PS: I actually think if nintendo went to restructure they would sell their gaming ip's and and look for other business
