That's common sense though..

Japan is the smaller market.

And the games coming so far are good.

We have Dynasty Warriors 8, Yakuza Ishin and Final Fantasy 14 at launch

Well, I guess those are decent games for Japan, but I think as the PS3 stumbled out of the gate in Japan, so I don't see why it's unthinkable that the PS4 wouldn't have a slow start as well. Plus the PS3 is still doing well there.

We have to remember that ps3 had a lot of bad things going for it like costing a lot, it was complicated to develop for ON TOP of the obvious challenge of rising costs for developing these next gen(at the time) games. And the games weren't selling too good which mainly stemmed from the ps3 costing so much

 

Ridge Racer and Gundam( The main games the ps3 had at launch) only did like 25k each their 1st weeks respectively in japan.

 

PS3 only sold like 85k launch week. PS2 broke 1million its 1st week in japan for comparisons sake.

 

Ps4 has a lot more going for it this time around so we will see next month
