Some of my favorite VG characters are women who fight for themselves and even men. I can't stand the damsels in distress...one reason why I detest the premise behind Mario. My all time favorite VG character is Aya Brea from the parasite eve series seen in my avatar.

On a serious note, I think most are under the impression that girls want to be protected thanks to Disney and the likes.
