When it comes to the big 3 in Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft - Microsoft has the biggest shot of falling off, because of its price, and lack of great first party software. Nintendo has the Wii U that has been underachieving but is def on the way up, and the 3DS which killing it right now, so they should be in good shape this year. Sony on the other hand has great software coming this year, better cross platform titles because of the stronger hardware, and cheaper price point, so they should be in good shape as well. I am really worried about 3rd parties though as you can only make so many blockbuster games that sell a lot per year, I have a feeling many of these titles will get overlooked and not sell enough to break even, or help fund original IP's which could potentially cause a collapse in the industry similar to 1983. The only difference would be that instead of a bunch of crappy games being made that know one wants, there will be a a flux of amazing games out there that just wont sell causing 3rd parties to rethink their strategy! The big 3 though should be in great shape, people who think Nintendo is in trouble don't know what the hell they are talking about, Sony and Microsoft will shape the next gen with their social multimedia capabilities, but I feel unless Microsoft cuts there price, they will be 3rd this generation, as a lot of fans are going over to Sony!
