Vita had some horrible weeks in early Q1 last year. Think on Demon Gaze/Monster Monpiece week it was like 9k and it was hovering around that throughout January & February. As long as it finds a better baseline than that, things will be good.

It'll obviously get much less of a March boost than last year because basically everything the system is getting is a sequel or a port (Phantasy Star Online 2 Episode 2; Hatsune Miku 2; Soul Sacrifice Delta; Samurai Warriors 4; Hyperdimension Neptunia 2 etc.) But if it's got a better baseline, that should make up for it.

Also, Sword Art Online is a bit of a wild card in April, so it might even things out.

It's the latter part of the year Sony need to nail. Good Phantasy Star Nova release date with LE bundle & price cut if needed. Should keep the system up YoY. Hopefully some other game announcements to go with it and a decent advertising push for Freedom Wars.

Baseline should definitely be a lot better now, much stronger schedule but as you said theres a lot of sequels. Sony need to push Freedom Wars as much as they can, it can definitely move units and become a franchise. It even has the potential for a future manga/anime spin off further pushing the series popularity. As for SAO that really depends on the series popularity when it launches. SAO on PSP launched when it was popular I believe but was terrible game so it had 0 legs. SAO on Vita will probs launch at a weaker time in the series (Thanks Attack on Titan) but if they make a good game Im sure it can sell quite well.

Agreed. Sony pushed SS really nicely and the game sold well partially because of that, however they were aiming to a narrower audience (when compared to other hunting games) because of the concept and style of the game. If Sony pushes Freedom Wars like they did with Soul Sacrifice, I think they will have much a bigger hit on their hands in terms of sales and maybe hardware mover.
