I still dont get why anyone would want either console at this point.

i don't understand what's so difficult to understand. Many are OK with playing the new multi-plats on a  new system with a better OS, graphics. Other know games are coming soon, and what will waiting 4 months do? it will still be 399.00 for at least a  year maybe more.  Sony has built brand recognition, people know games are coming and 399 is a deadly launch price,

After tax, ps+ or whatever minimum you are looking at is $500($600 X1) entry. Theres a few people that will buy for Infamous SS, and Im sure a bunch that will for the new Halo, but I dont see anything next gen exclusive that makes it worth getting 1st gen hardware. By christmas next year there will be sale bundles and a bit of an actual library to warrant purchase. Every gamer I know (no one is really hardcore, internet forum posting and whatnot) has little(1 of like 40 I know wants to play Dead Rising 3) to no interest in either system because there is nothing unique for them to play. I played the demos of Knack and Fifa on the PS4 and the graphics arent at the point of major differentiation from current consoles, and god knows how much worse X1 looks since they dont have proper demo stations. The one person I know that has a PS4 sold his only game(COD) cause all his friends are still on PS3. I still dont get spending so much money on something with so little to offer even in light of your arguement.

?? There are a tonne of next gen exclusives, and again, on a better system witha  betetr controller with better graophcis do sell. People know the games are coming and many want the best experience, last gen went on too long.

I ask again, what do you gain by waiting a year only to still have to pay 399? There are a tonne of games in 2014.  There are also many people out there that 500 is not a lot of cash, people spend a lot more then that on takeout many months. It's pretty easy to udnerstand really.
